Canadian Corey Large Executive Producer On The November Man In Theatres Now and Revenge Of The Green Dragons Premiering At TIFF

The Promotion People - Corey LargeCorey acts and produces in BC film Poker Night premiering December 5, 2014

The year 2014 is proving to be busier than ever for Canadian actor/writer/producer Corey Large. As an executive producer, the B.C. native has a handful of blockbusters screening at prestigious film festivals and in theaters worldwide. Earlier this year “It Follows” premiered at Cannes and more recently, “Revenge of the Green Dragons” was accepted into the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. “The November Man” opens this August and, later this year, “Poker Night” debuts in theatres across North America.

Starring Pierce Brosnan, “The November Man” is the first of Corey’s new slate of films to hit the big screen, debuting on August 27. Corey executive produces and Roger Donaldson (“The Bank Job”) directs. The spy thriller also stars Olga Kurylenko and Luke Bracey.

Alongside famed director Martin Scorsese, Corey executive produced “Revenge of the Green Dragons” starring Ray Liotta, Justin Chon, Kevin Wu, Harry Shum Jr, Shuya Chang, and Geoff Pierson. The film premieres at TIFF on Sept. 10 as part of the festival’s Special Presentations programme. This dizzying, decade-spanning crime saga from directors Andrew Lau and Andrew Loo follows two best friends as they rise through the ranks of New York’s Chinese underworld in the 1980s.

Corey not only produced, but also co-stars in “Poker Night,” a feature film shot in his hometown of Victoria, B.C., starring Beau Mirchoff, Ron Perlman, Giancarlo Esposito, and Titus Welliver. The thriller, which features twists and turns that will leave you guessing till the very end, opens in theaters nationwide on Dec. 5.

Earlier this year Corey produced and acted in the Canadian feature “Kid Cannabis,” which opened to rave reviews on April 20 and continues with strong DVD sales.

At the helm of Wingman Productions and Tunnel Post, Corey runs his own studio and post-production company controlling the direction of projects he chooses to work on. His Santa Monica-based companies specialize in creating high-end media content for film, television, live events, commercials and music videos including, “Killing them Softly” with Brad Pitt, “Broken City” starring Russell Crowe and Mark Wahlberg, and “The Tomb” with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone.

Along with his partners, Corey has written, produced, co-starred in and sold a number of full-length features to Hollywood studios, including:  “Loaded”, “Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever,” “Toxic, “The Penthouse,” “The Obama Effect,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” and “The Frozen Ground”. Corey executive produced “Fire with Fire” starring Josh Duhamel, “The Angriest Man in Brooklyn”starring Mila Kunis and the late Robin Williams, and “Broken City” starring Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe. Other features include “Lap Dance” “Zombeavers,” “Don Peyote,” “Unconscious” and “Empire State”. Recently, Corey had a role in the Oscar-nominated “Lone Survivor” starring Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch and Eric Bana.

Staying true to his Canadian roots, Corey will venture back to British Columbia to produce and act in “The Passenger” with Vancouver director Chad Krowchuk, Corey splits his time between Victoria and Los Angeles. He is available for interviews upon request.

Actor Gerald Auger returns to TV in CBC’s Strange Empire following three-year sabbatical

The Promotion People - AugerAuger’s Black Eagle Entertainment productions are increasing the awareness of First Nations people

It’s official: Gerald Auger is back! Starting this fall, one of Canada’s most sought-after First Nations actors and motivational speakers can be seen as Chogan in Strange Empire, a brand new 1800s-set Western featuring a female-driven cast. Part of CBC’s 2014-15 lineup, the TV drama focuses on its characters’ struggle to survive and care for their community in a lawless society, and is set to air on Monday, October 6th at 9pm.

“In the 16 years I’ve been acting, I have never experienced cast and crew coming up to me as a fellow actor on set and apologizing for what they are about to say or do to my character,” says the actor. “I found both the cast and crew to be truly remorseful about the plight of the indigenous people from the past.”

Like some of the show’s characters, Auger has been helping his community for many years. He’s a recipient of the Native Role Model Award from the Governor General of Canada for overcoming obstacles and challenges in his life as an Indigenous youth.

After filming a recurring role, Pawnee Killer, in AMC’s Emmy-nominated Hell on Wheels, the Canadian star took a hiatus from acting and returned to the northern Alberta community where he grew up. Upon his arrival, Auger was shocked to learn there had been at least seven deaths of young members of the community.

“I realized then that I needed to give back to my community, specifically in regards to the young people,” he shares. “As I have lived the struggles that they were experiencing, alcohol and drug abuse, violence, suicide, low self esteem, and homelessness.”

Auger is the founder of Black Eagle Entertainment; a production company geared towards increasing the awareness of First Nations people and dispelling stereotypes associated with the culturally rich community.

Never one to shy away from personal stories, his 2009 short film Honour Thy Father – created in collaboration with the APTN, CBC and the National Film Board of Canada – focuses on his struggle with the Anglican Church to lay his father to rest in the traditional Cree way.

Auger spent part of his acting sabbatical writing and directing The Forgotten Truth of the Wilderness, the sequel to his critically acclaimed 2009 documentary. The film explores his personal quest to understand the impact of Christianity on First Nations communities. The film is based on his personal search in understanding the man they called Jesus through Indigenous ceremonies and land based teachings.

“For me, I will always hold my head up high, stand proud and stay strong even when my own indigenous people come at me for my Indigenous cultural and spiritual beliefs,” he says.

As an actor with Native roots, Auger is very selective about his on-screen roles. He tries to take on parts that portray First Nations people in a positive light, with the hopes that other young actors will follow suit. The roles that he chooses must have a spiritual component to the story and characters. Auger believes “Today’s film and television industry has become disconnected to creation and Creator like most of society. It is refreshing to be a part of a TV Series like Strange Empire and Hell On Wheels that are at least attempting to capture the the plight of the Indigenous people of the past”

Auger’s career:
Discovered in the opening ceremonies of the 1995 Canada Winter Games, Gerald Auger has become one of the busiest First Nations actors in Canada. Some of his many high-profile credits include: a supporting role in the Steven Spielberg-produced Into the West, the ABC miniseries DreamKeaper, and a starring role alongside Adam Beach and Jason Priestley in CTV’s Luna Spirit of the Whale.

William Ainscough stars in City TV’s series “Seed” set to premiere on the CW Network in July, co-stars in Disney Channel’s ‘Zapped’ out June 27th and was a nominee for a 2014 Leo Award

The Promotion People - William AinscoughIn the past year, William Ainscough has been recognized for his hard work on “SEED”; being nominated for the 2013 UBCP Best Newcomer and most recently for a 2014 Leo Award Best Performance in a Music, Comedy, or Variety Program or Series category. William was also thrilled to attend the CSAs in Toronto in March to celebrate Seed’s 8 CSA nominations including Best Comedic Series.

The first season of “SEED” was hailed as both a critical and commercial success and has been picked up by U.S. network The CW set to debut on the CW Monday July 14. William returned to his starring role of Billy Jones-Krasnoff in the second season of “SEED” and is just wrapping up airing Thursday nights at 9pm on CityTV. The series stars Adam Korson (2 Broke Girls) as Harry, a bachelor-bartender and sperm donor. Harry discovers that his foray into the world of sperm donation has resulted in kids – lots of kids! This ill-equipped bachelor finds himself entangled in the lives of his newfound children and their less-than-thrilled families with whom he’ll come to share more than just his DNA.

The Promotion People - William Ainscough SEED

William Ainscough has been busy with other several acting gigs; having played the iconic role of John Darling in ABC’s “Once Upon a Time”, completing a major supporting role in “The Christmas Ornament” for Hallmark Channel coming out this December, and a leading role on “The Haunting Hour”, which will air on the HUB Network later this year.

Continuously pursuing his acting ambitions, William also booked a role in the comedic Disney Channel Original Movie “Zapped”, set to debut June 27, 2014. He has been working with multi-talented recording artist/actress Zendaya (“Dancing with the Stars,” “Shake It Up”), who will be headlining “Zapped,” the story of Zoey, a girl whose well-ordered life is up-ended when her mother remarries and she finds herself part of a family composed of rambunctious, chaotic – and most of all – messy boys and a male dog, to boot. William plays Ben, the youngest and messiest of Zendaya’s step-brothers.

After booking his first two auditions, it was clear that acting was a path well chosen for William. He has been thrilled to be able to add actor and his new bookings to his resume of accomplishments. Following in his parent’s footsteps (Nicole Oliver, actress; Chris Ainscough, composer/film editor), William Ainscough is making a serious impression in the entertainment industry. William has had the chance to act opposite his mother in several episodes of SEED , when she plays Billy’s teacher/Vice Principal, Mrs. Anderson.

It was after watching his mother in action during visits to the sets of some of her film projects that William’s interest in the acting world began. Nicole inspired him to try acting for himself and his very first attempt at acting was a success, when he landed his first audition in May 2012—an open casting call for a new feature film “Hidden”. The feature film, which follows a family hiding in a bomb shelter after a mysterious outbreak devastates civilization, stars Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood, Battleship) and Andrea Riseborough (Oblivion, Never Let Me Go). William was successful in landing the role of Joey, a slightly shy and soulful boy and close friend and neighbor of Zoe’s (Emily Alyn Lind). The film Hidden, directed by The Duffer Brothers, and is set to hit theatres in 2014.

Aside from acting, William is an accomplished drummer, loves soccer and baseball, and is a huge fan of the online game Minecraft.

The Canadian Premiere of Tommy Smith’s ‘White Hot’ starring Loretta Walsh, Noel Johansen, Stefania Indelicato and Charlie Carrick to be directed by Ben Ratner at The Shop Theatre from May 8th to May 17th, 2014

The Promotion People - White HotPlaywright Tommy Smith will be in attendance on Opening Night May 8th

Director Ben Ratner and Actor/Producers Loretta Walsh and Noel Johansen are teaming up again for the highly anticipated Canadian Premiere of Tommy Smith’s ‘White Hot’ coming to Vancouver audiences from May 8th to May 17th at The Shop Theatre.

Fresh off the theatrical release of his award-winning film Down River, Ratner has assembled a fine cast to take on this provocative and challenging script. Produced by Walsh’s Kindred Entertainment, this promises to be another top-notch production from strong new voices in the Vancouver theatre scene.

After a successful collaboration last year with the play ‘Dinner with Friends’, Ratner (Down River) will be directing, while Walsh (When Calls the Heart) and Johansen (Adeline) are acting, joined by fast-rising actors Stefania Indelicato (Annual Getaway) and Charlie Carrick (The Borgias) in the Canadian Premiere of this powerful and engaging play.

” **** Incendiary … [Tommy Smith’s] dialogue has brass on its knuckles … WHITE HOT brands Smith forcefully as a talent to watch and to stomach.” — Adam Feldman, TIME OUT NEW YORK

“A beautifully written study in nihilism … revealing why so many marriages, based on such blind attempts at controlling another person and some understandably devious responses to it, lead to duplicitous affairs.” – Steven Leigh Morris, LA WEEKLY

The Promotion People - Ben Ratner

“White Hot is a fever blister of a play. It’s not nice. It’s not pretty. It’s raw and tough and meaty, grown up theater for adults who crave intellectual and artistic drama.” – Michael Strangeways, SEATTLE GAY SCENE

White Hot’ is a darkly comedic psycho-drama crammed into a love triangle between a troubled woman, her opportunistic husband, and her trashed sister. Burrowing fearlessly into themes of sexual deviance and social depravity, White Hot playfully struts the razor’s edge between hilarity and horror.

New York based Playwright Tommy Smith will be in attendance opening night on May 8th

For Canadian actor/producer Corey Large, the drug drama ‘Kid Cannabis’ out April 18 is just the first of many feature films for one of the busiest movie producers in North America this year

Production in the works s with Martin Scorsese, Mark Wahlberg, Russell Crowe, Bruce Willis and Liam Neeson

The Promotion People - Corey Large

Meet actor, writer and producer Corey Large, who’s emerging as one of the most sough-after producers in Hollywood and Canada – with nearly 15 projects slated for release in 2014/15. Born in Victoria, this B.C. boy who has been under the radar is now flying high working with a dream team of A-listers . We’re talking the likes of Martin Scorsese, Russell Crowe, Mark Wahlberg, John Cusack, Pierce Brosnan, Anne Hathaway, 50 Cent, Liam Neeson, Mila Kunis, and the list goes on!

Corey heads up Wingman Productions – the company behind John Stockwell’s “Kid Cannabis,” which hits theatres across North America on April 18. The Canadian talent also acts in Stockwell’s drug drama starring veteran actors Ron Perlman (“Sons of Anarchy”) and John C. McGinley (“Scrubs”). Based on Mark Binelli’s 2005 article in Rolling Stone, “Kid Cannabis” tells the true story of Nate Norman (Jonathan Daniel Brown), an Idaho teen dropout who builds a multimillion-dollar marijuana ring by trafficking drugs across the Canadian border. His pursuit of the high life – complete with girls, guns, and vicious rival drug lords – gets this ex-pizza boy and his delinquent pals in over their heads.

The year 2014 will prove to be Corey’s busiest yet. He’s producing and executive producing over 10 films, including Martin Scorsese’s period piece “Silence,” which features an all-star cast rounded out by Liam Neeson, “Spider-Man’s” Andrew Garfield, and Adam Driver (“Girls”). Other projects include “The Prince” starring Bruce Willis, John Cusack and Jessica Lowndes, “Any Day” featuring Sean Bean, Eva Longoria, and “Unconscious” starring Kate Bosworth and Wes Bentley.

Other feature films being released this year are ‘November Man’ starring Pierce Bronson, Lucey Bucey and Olga Kurylenko in the Roger Donaldson directed spy-thriller an adaptation of the Bill Granger novel There Are No Spies, in which a former CIA operative who is brought back in on a very personal mission finds himself pitted against his former protégé in a deadly game involving high-level CIA officials and the Russian President-elect. Also ‘Poker Night’ filmed in Victoria starring Ron Pearlman, Giancario Esposito, Lochlyn Munro and Michael Eklund will be released this November.

Corey took matters into his own hands early on in his career. In 2003, the Victoria-native established Wingman Productions to create his own noteworthy projects, enabling him to run his studio and control the direction of his movies. The goal was simple: produce mainstream features on a budget, without compromising quality. His recipe worked and by the time Corey turned 30 he had already raised more than $100 million dollars for film productions.
