World renowned Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, keyboardist, guitarist, and composer David Sancious announces Concert Series

“The Treehouse Concerts“ will be presented in an intimate atmosphere at
David’s studio/recital space in his home in Woodstock, New York

New York, April 2017: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, keyboardist, guitarist and composer David Sancious, is pleased to announce a concert series in the beautiful mountain setting in Woodstock, New York this summer.

“The Treehouse Concerts“ will be presented in a recital atmosphere in David’s studio/ recital space in his home outside New York. David will be presenting a series of Solo Piano/Solo Synthesizer concerts as well as a Blues Guitar program that David performed when he was Artist In Residence at SUNY New Paltz.

The concerts will run throughout the summer every Saturday and Sunday at 4:00 pm. On occasion, guest artists will join David. The concerts will be followed by a Q&A session with photo and autograph opportunities and post-concert refreshments overlooking a panoramic view of the Hudson Valley.

An original member of Bruce Springsteen’s beloved E Street Band, David recorded three albums together and toured the country before he left the band to form his own group, “Tone”. David recorded multiple albums with Tone and the accomplishments of these albums led him to become one of the most talented and respected keyboardists in the industry. Bruce Springsteen writes about David in his best selling book Born to Run, “Davey Sancious had pure musical genius with incredible stage presence. He was a star in the making and I wanted him in my band. ”

The notable artist has since worked with celebrities such as Sting, Peter Gabriel, Eric Clapton, Seal, Aretha Franklin, Santana, Jeff Beck and many others. David has performed on more than 50 albums since his 1973 debut album, “Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.” with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. The versatility of his sensational career has made it difficult to categorize his music. David, however, considers his art a mixture of harmony and melody from the jazz and classical traditions combined with rhythms from the rock and R&B traditions. David is well respected by his peers, considered by many as a “musician’s musician”. David is currently working on his ninth album, “The Treehouse Sessions”.

David has spent the last five years touring with some of the most sought-after musicians of our time. He joined both Sting and Peter Gabriel on separate tours, and then a combined tour “Rock Paper Scissors” last year. In 2014 Bruce Springsteen presented to David when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the other members of the E Street Band. In a surprise performance on April 21st David joined Springsteen and The E Street Band on stage at the Asbury Music & Film Festival after the World Premiere of “Just Before the Dawn” in which David appears.  The documentary explores the music scene in Asbury Park in 1970, the year the riot hit, when 73 clubs dotted the one square mile town.

Farside Pictures announces that Dear Kate, a short film by actor/writer/director Ilona Elizabeth McCrea, will premiere at the Newport Beach Film Festival on April 26th. The film stars Elizabeth Shepherd—Emma Peel from the original 1960’s British spy series, The Avengers; later portrayed by Diana Rigg.

In McCrea’s directorial debut, Dear Kate follows Lorna, a retired vocalist, who on the eve of her granddaughter’s birthday, tries to repair the widening rifts that isolate her from her kin. Estranged from her husband, by dementia; and her daughter, by emotion, she struggles with her isolation, and seeks comfort in her memories. While her caregiver, Gary, quietly and dutifully performs the function of a surrogate son.

Produced by Matthew Ackland, Executive Produced by Patrick Butler, with Cinematography by Aaron Bernakevitch. The cast includes Gemini Award Nominated actress Elizabeth Shepherd, as Lorna. With over 500 Film and TV appearances, her credits include: The Tomb of Ligeia, starring Vincent Price; Damien: Omen II, starring William Holden; Criminal Law, starring Kevin Bacon and Gary Oldman; and Amelia: starring Hilary Swank. Julian Black Antelope co-stars as Gary (Into the West, Blackstone, Penny Dreadful, Hell on Wheels) and Ilona Elizabeth McCrea plays young Lorna (Law & Order: SVU, 79 Parts).

McCrea states, “By journeying with Lorna I wanted to give the audience a juxtaposition between a rich, full, life and a present reality that feels stagnant and isolated.

The global population of people aged 60 years and older will more than double, from 900 million in 2015 to about 2 billion in 2050. According to Statistics Canada, as many as 1.4 million elderly Canadians report feeling lonely. In 2010, the U.S. Census Bureau reported that 11 million, or 28% of people aged 65 and older, lived alone. A 2012 study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, found that both social isolation and loneliness are associated with a higher risk of mortality in adults aged 52 and older. In England alone, more than 2 million people over the age of 75 live on their own, and more than a million older people say they go for over a month without speaking to a friend, neighbor or family member.

Dear Kate is nominated for six Alberta Film and Television Awards (AMPIA), including: Best Short Dramatic, Best Director (Drama Under 30 mins), Best Screenwriter (Drama Under 30 mins), Best Cinematographer (Drama under 30 mins), Best Costume Design, and Best Editor (Drama Under 30 mins). TAMMY GILLIS SHINES IN FESTIVAL GEM, FEATURE FILM ‘MENORCA’

Tammy recently won Best Actress at the Noida International Film Festival in Delhi, India

She is also set to appear on the small screen in The Arrangement, premiering March 5th

Tammy Gillis is kicking off 2017 with a bang, celebrating her acclaimed role in the indie festival circuit gem, ‘Menorca’, with a recent Best Actress award at the Noida International Film Festival in India. Tammy will be heading to the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose next, where ‘Menorca’ will be screening from March 1-10. The film has garnered critical acclaim internationally, and is set to continue premieres across the country, with screenings scheduled for Winnipeg (April 20th), Toronto (April 21st) and Vancouver (TBA). Tammy will be attending the screenings, and is available for interviews upon request.

Menorca is the dramatic feature film directorial debut by John Barnard of Farpoint Film, who also wrote the film.  Tammy plays a hedonistic soccer mom who indulges in her fantasy world, breaking away entirely from her family and life of motherhood. As she embarks on a journey through bad decision-making, she comes to a conclusion to the singularity of her life purpose — she needs to win back her son’s affection.

On the small screen, Tammy can be seen in a recurring role on the E! Network’s new series ‘The Arrangement’, which premieres March 5, 2017. Tammy plays an actress on the show, which follows fellow actress Megan, who is desperate for that really big break. Megan lands the role of a lifetime, quickly winning the affections of her A-list co-star-to-be, the fabulously successful and wealthy Kyle West.  However, her world is rocked when she is presented with a life-changing “arrangement”, for which she will be compensated lavishly.

A Hallmark Channel fan favourite, Tammy will be appearing on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries network for a role in the original movie ‘Murder She Baked: Just Desserts’, premiering March 26, 2017. Tammy plays Michelle Bishop, the coach’s wife, on the series, which follows crime-solving baker Hannah Swensen’s first-ever televised bake-off competition gone horribly wrong.

In theatres, Tammy has the feature film ‘Thirty-Seventeen’ on the horizon. The film follows tech billionaire Adam Vine as he attends his 20th high school reunion. Convinced that he and his classmates have unfinished business that dates back to 1997, he uses his immense cash flow to buy the impossible: a brief return to high school for all of them. Tammy plays Claire in the film, one of the popular girls in high school who wants to relive her youth by getting wild at the reunion party. The film is set for theatrical release in the spring.

The Hallmark Channel has been home to many popular appearances by Tammy, including her most recent release in a co-starring role opposite Danica McKellar in ‘Wedding Bells’. Also on the Hallmark Channel, Tammy had a lead role in one of the network’s most highly rated movies, ‘Unleashing Mr. Darcy’. In this modern day spin on ‘Pride & Prejudice’, Tammy starred along with Cindy Busby, Ryan Paevey and Frances Fischer.

Tammy, who was recently nominated for a Leo Award for Best Female Guest Performance for her role in ‘Ties That Bind’, is widely recognized for her multitude of film and television appearances. In a challenging role, she played a profound character in ‘Signed Sealed Delivered: Impossible Dream’. Her character is based on the real story of the Band of Sisters, an ultra-secret Joint Special Operations Command – which sent female soldiers in the field to go out on combat missions alongside the Rangers. Tammy’s role displays the diversity and talent of her acting.

Tammy’s directorial debut came earlier this year for the web series ‘The Support Group’, which she also produced and acted in. The original comedy web series follows three unlikely friends, each facing their own challenges and coming together to save their beloved support group.

This exceptionally talented actress has over 50 credits to her name and has made TV guest appearances on Ties that Bind (UPTV), Motive(CTV/ABC), Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce (Bravo), Supernatural (CW), Lost Girl (Showcase), Blue Mountain State (Spike TV), Endgame (Showcase), and many more.  She has recurred on the critically acclaimed award winning HBO Canada series Less Than Kind and jPod (CBC) .Additional work in which Tammy has appeared includes the feature films White Noise 2, Shooter, No Men Beyond This Point, and The Pinocchio Project, as well as leading roles in A Novel Romance (Hallmark), and Stolen from the Womb (Lifetime).

Divvying up her time between Vancouver, the east coast of Canada and Los Angeles, Tammy is a rising star who brings years of entertainment industry experience to the table. A well-respected member of the community, she served as a jury member for the Canadian Screen Awards for the past two years. Tammy has also volunteered as a mentor for the WIFTV actor mentorship program for the past three years.

WOW! UNLIMITED MEDIA’S MAINFRAME STUDIOS AND CORUS ENTERTAINMENT BEGIN NEXT PHASE OF PRODUCTION ON REBOOT: THE GUARDIAN CODE

Production Underway On the Visually Stunning Live-Action/CG-Animated Action-Comedy Series Featuring Strong Characters, Compelling Mystery, and Adrenaline-Pumping Action

Cast Includes Ty Wood, Sydney Scotia, Ajay Parikh-Friese, Gabriel Darku, and Hannah Vandenbygaart

WOW! Unlimited Media’s Mainframe Studios and Corus Entertainment are pleased to announce that production is underway in Victoria/Vancouver, B.C. on the live-action elements of ReBoot: The Guardian Code, a 20×22 minute live-action/CG-animated hybrid television series. This next phase of production reimagines the original 1994 animated classic, ReBoot, in a real life setting for modern, tech savvy audiences. Created by Michael Hefferon, the show follows four teenagers who discover that they’ve been selected to become the Next-Generation Guardians of cyberspace. ReBoot: The Guardian Code will premiere in Canada in 2018 on YTV.

After playing the multiplayer Cyber Guardians video game together, four teenagers are recruited by V.E.R.A (Hannah Vandenbygaart, Bruno & Boots: Go Jump in the Pool!), the Virtual Evolutionary Recombinant Avatar, to fulfill their mandate to mend and defend cyberspace. Austin (Ty Wood, The Haunting in Connecticut), Tamra (Sydney Scotia, Some Assembly Required), Parker (Ajay Parikh-Friese, Mr. Young), and Trey (Gabriel Darku, Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments) now must protect cyberspace from threats that pose true consequences to both the virtual and real world. It’s more than these kids expected when they started at Alan Turing High. Way more.

ReBoot: The Guardian Code intercuts live-action scenes with awe-inspiring CG animation produced with the Unreal game engine, showing how the real world and cyberspace are interconnected. “The power of the game engine’s capabilities to create vast cyberspace settings along with AI (Artificial Intelligence) for dynamic secondary animation fused with live action, will deliver a truly unique and engaging experience for viewers”, says Creator and Executive Producer Michael Hefferon. “As groundbreaking as the original ReBoot was being the first ever CG animated series, ReBoot: The Guardian Code takes it to a whole new level.”

This innovative series will also deliver true 360-degree engagement experiences for audiences with interactive mobile games, a digital trading card game that syncs with the broadcast of the series, and a Virtual Reality experience that puts fans right in the middle of the cyberspace action. More details to be announced at a later date.

ReBoot: The Guardian Code is produced by Mainframe Studios in association with Corus Entertainment, with Executive Producer/Producer Michael Hefferon, Executive Producer/Showrunner Larry Raskin, and Matt Sheppo, the Production Executive for Corus. The action-comedy series is directed by Co-Executive Producer Pat Williams, and Michael Dowding is the Supervising Director of Animation. Actor Wesley MacInnes adds Power Rangers to his list of film credits

Wesley is currently filming with Liam Neeson for the feature film Hard Powder

Standout Canadian actor/musician Wesley MacInnes continues to make a name for himself on both screen and stage. In a newly imagined version of the wildly popular hit series, Power Rangers, Wesley MacInnes (Supernatural, The 100, Smallville) plays a cruel antagonist in denim cut-offs.  The first chapter of the film paints its heroes as a group of strangers, without any special powers, going head-to-head with a bunch of high school misfits, helmed by Colt Wallace (MacInnes).  He is vindictive and unrelenting as he targets Billy the Blue Ranger (RJ Cyler), menacing him in the confines of the school halls. Power Rangers, which centers on a group of high-school kids with unique superpowers, stars Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Ludi Lin and Becky G as the Power Rangers. Elizabeth Banks and Bryan Cranston round out the key cast of the film, which is currently playing in theatres worldwide.

Next up for Wesley is a role in the Liam Neeson feature film titled Hard Powder. The project, currently in production in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada, stars Neeson along with veteran actors Laura Dern, Emmy Rossum, and Tom Jackson, and is being directed by Hans Petter Molland.

Wesley pours his passion for performing into every new project. He has a long list of television credits that include: iZombie, Motive, The 100, Supernatural, Continuum, Smallville, Heartland and The Vampire Diaries. He has also taken on roles in films, including: Magic Beyond Words: The JK Rowling Story, A Dog Named Christmas, Girl House, and The Phantoms.

As a musician, MacInnes is widely recognized by his stage name Wes Mack. He has opened for the likes of Florida Georgia Line, Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert, and performed with Shania Twain across the nation on her “Rock This Country” farewell tour. Mack broke into the country music scene in 2013 when he released his debut single “Duet”, which reached number nine on the Billboard chart and the video (directed by him) went on to earn two CCMA nominations for Video and Video Director of the Year. Mack continued his successful run behind the camera, directing 11 music videos including four of his own, which earned him multiple CCMA and BCCMA nominations for Music Video and Director of the Year.

2013 also saw Mack win the inaugural CCMA Discovery Program as well as the Unsigned Only Music Competition, besting some 10,000 artists from around the world. Following these milestones, Mack exploded outward in 2015, releasing two top 20 singles and picking up his eighth CCMA nomination. Later that year, Mack released his debut album “Edge of the Storm” which was nominated at the 2016 CCMA awards for Album of the Year and debuted at number four on the iTunes chart. Between festival performances, Mack spent much of 2016 in Nashville writing for his second album, which is currently underway.

Wesley is a Calgary native, who currently resides in Vancouver, where he continues to expand his ever-growing resume of impressive credits. From the largest stages and arenas to the director’s chair, from writing hit songs to creating characters as an actor; Wesley has established himself as a creative force of many forms.

Wesley has worked to give back to a number of institutions to which he owes much of his life. As a young child, MacInnes underwent heart surgery to correct a congenital heart defect. Now, as an adult, he has paired with the Cardiac Kids (in connection with the Sick Kids hospital in Toronto) and the Alberta Children’s Hospital in an effort to raise awareness and money for these organizations.

Wesley MacInnes is available for interviews and photographs upon request.

Actor Viv Leacock joins a stellar cast on ABC TV’s Epic Mini-Series ‘When We Rise’, premiering on February 27th

Viv is also back for season 2 of BBC America’s ‘Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency’, and currently filming his role as Fincher Garland on Hallmark Channel’s new ‘Hailey Dean Mystery’

With over a hundred roles in film and television productions to his name, spanning an impressive 20-year career in acting, Viv Leacock is busier than ever. We’re just starting 2017, and already this year Viv has roles in four TV shows, including: ABC’s Epic Mini-Series ‘When We Rise’, the second season of BBC America’s ‘Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency’, Hallmark Channel’s new ‘Hailey Dean Mystery’, and AT&T Audience’s new series ‘Loudermilk’.

First up on the small screen, Viv is part of an ensemble cast in the epic mini-series on ABC TV, ‘When We Rise’, premiering on February 27th. The series, written and created by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, follows the struggles of LGBT men and women pioneering one of the final legs of the U.S. civil rights movement. Viv plays a father whose daughter writes a poignant letter to President Obama in the Friday, March 3rd episode. ‘When We Rise’ stars Guy Pearce, Mary-Louise Parker, Rachel Griffiths, Michael K. Williams and Ivory Aquino.

Now in production, Viv is back in his role of ‘Fincher Garland’, an investigator for Atlanta’s D. A., as well as a work husband and sometimes bodyguard for Hailey Dean (Kellie Martin) in Hallmark Channel’s “Hailey Dean Mystery”. The movie follows former prosecutor-turned-therapist Hailey Dean, who is a powerhouse, Mensa bright, and acutely observant.

The overwhelming success of ‘Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency’ has the series back in production this spring for season two. Created by Max Landis and airing on BBC America and Netflix, Viv’s role of ‘Gripps’ is the most fun he has ever on screen. Gripps is part of a group of supernatural beings called ‘The Rowdy 3’ – all four of them – composed of the aloof Martin (Michael Eklund), the manic Vogel (Osric Chau), the ever-stoic Gripps, and the deranged Cross (Zak Santiago), as vampires.  Not the night walking bloodsucking kind, but rather something much stranger…if that’s possible. They feed on emotion and the electrical energy of the human mind, which they extract in blasts of crackling electricity.  Ex-test subjects, the Rowdy 3 have tried to make a life for themselves out in the real world, forever hunting Dirk Gently; deliberately entering his life in moments where it will cause him the most emotional terror. The Rowdy 3 has garnered their own fan club, as viewers love the combination of the four talented actors.

In the early 90’s, Viv’s first love was stand-up comedy. Viv credits being an actor to his brother Richard Leacock (Doc, Lake Placid, Saving God) as the reason he is in the entertainment industry. Acting came to him in 1997 just after his mother passed away. Although Viv hasn’t had any formal training, in addition to his brother, he also credits Mark Brandon, Jeff Seymour and Ben Ratner for being instrumental in helping him find his way as an actor.

It is his role as T. J. in the feature film ‘I Spy’ (2002) with Eddie Murphy that paved his way. Eddie Murphy had to approve Viv in his role of T. J., one of Kelly Robinson’s (Murphy) entourage. Eddie’s first words to Viv were “You’re really funny man!” Something that Viv still treasures today. Growing up, Eddie Murphy was his idol, so working along side him was an amazing experience.

Other memorable roles in feature films include the comedy ‘Intern Academy’ (2004) starring Dave Thomas of SCTV fame, Dan Aykroyd, and Dave Foley. In 2010, he was nominated for a Leo Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in ‘The Thaw’, starring Val Kilmer. In 2013, Viv appeared in the award-winning feature ‘Becoming Redwood’ and the film festival gem ‘Dark Harvest’ (2016), starring Cheech Marie, James Hutson and Hugh Dillon. Another TV Role that had great impact on Viv was his role in ‘On The Farm’ (2016).

Although he has built a successful acting career, it is his family life with his wife Divina, and their three children, Vienna, 10, Lennox, 9 and Elias, 6, that Viv cherishes the most. Viv currently resides with his family in Vancouver.

Matt uses his engaging entertainment platform, with roles in everything from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles projects to Dino Trux, to advocate for a healthy future for kids and the planet

Voice actor, Run for One Planet Ambassador and TEDX speaker Matt Hill is honoured to be the recipient of the Governor General of Canada Meritorious Service Medal (Civil Division). The award recognizes outstanding accomplishments that set an example for others to follow and bring benefit to our country.

Along with his friend Steph Tait, the Run for One Planet mission raised $130,000 for the R41P Legacy 4 Kids Fund, which grants kids “green dreams” in schools around North America. The campaign positively impacted countless youth, and our environment, leading to the Meritorious Service Award.

As Matt continues his busy voiceover work, he also runs and speaks to youth at motivational speaking events, aiming to positively affect not only the environment, but also children’s lives around the planet. Viva Pictures and IndustryWorks Studios are pleased to announce the release of “CANDiLAND”, a feature film from Motorcycle Boy Productions in association with Greendale Productions

The award-winning “CANDiLAND” stars Oscar nominee Gary Busey (The Buddy Holly Story, Lethal Weapon), Chelah Horsdal (Man in The High Castle, Hell on Wheels) and James Clayton (Minority Report, The 100). The feature film will be released in the United States on February 7th, 2017, by Viva Pictures Distribution, LLC.

IndustryWorks Studios will release the film theatrically in Canada in select theatres beginning February 3rd, 2017.

CANDiLAND tells the story of intensified mutual attraction to the point of deadly obsession. New lovebirds Peter (James Clayton) and Tess (Chelah Horsdal) find solace in each other’s brokenness. They decide to isolate themselves from the world inside Peter’s apartment, creating their own reality – CANDiLAND, but their possessive love descends into a surreal savagery. Their only hope to survive is the intervention of Peter’s estranged father Arnie (Gary Busey). But will he reach them in time?

Gary Busey states, “CANDiLAND teaches us to pay attention to the heart of the injured like you haven’t paid attention before.”

CANDiLAND marks a nuanced departure for Busey, who has been seen as a contestant in reality TV shows such as NBC’S The Apprentice and ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. Busey was drawn to the role, finding parallels between his character, Arnie, and himself, and the echoes of the father/son relationship shown in the film familiar. His performance is earnest and sincere.

Based on the novel by Elizabeth Engstrom, CANDiLAND was written and directed for the screen by Rusty Nixon. The film was featured at The Julien Dubuque International Film Festival 2016 (http://julienfilmfest.com), where it won Best World Premiere, and at The Sunscreen Festival 2016, one of only 23 film festivals nationwide to be sponsored and acknowledged by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Science, where Gary Busey received the Legacy Award (http://sunscreenfilmfestival.com).

“Elizabeth Engstrom’s cult novel has haunted me since I first read it twenty years ago. It was an honor to bring the book to life and to work with such a passionate cast and crew to create an unforgettable film experience.” – Rusty Nixon, Director.
