Filmmaker Corey Large

Canadian Filmmaker Corey Large reunites Hollywood A-list actors Bruce Willis and John Travolta after 27 years in the action-packed feature film “Paradise City”

Bruce Willis is Detective James Knight in the trilogy. “Detective Knight Rogue”, “Detective Knight: Redemption” and “Detective Knight: Independence”

Canadian Producer/Actor/Director/Screenwriter Corey Large of 308 Enterprises is one of North America’s most prolific filmmakers. His enthusiasm and love of the entertainment industry have helped him garner the trust of A-list actors Bruce Willis and John Travolta bringing them together after 27 years in the feature film “Paradise City” shot in Maui is now available On Demand. Also starring Bruce Willis “Detective Knight Rogue” is the thrilling first of a trilogy of films. Filmed in Vancouver, BC the feature film being distributed by Lionsgate is available on Digital and On Demand.  “Detective Knight: Redemption” will be released on December 9, 2022, and “Detective Knight: Independence” will be released on January 20, 2023.

The action-packed movie “Paradise City” is the first movie to reunite Bruce Willis and John Travolta in 27 years. Corey has been looking to reteam the pair since 2006. This is the fifth time the two have starred together; the last movie was “Pulp Fiction.” In “Paradise City” Willis plays renegade bounty hunter Ryan Swan, who must carve his way through the Hawaiian crime world to seek revenge on the kingpin, played by Travolta, who killed his father. Corey is a co-writer, and producer and acts in the feature film. Actress Praya Lundberg (Strange Girl in a Strange Land) is the lead female role with Stephen Dorff (True Detective) and Blake Jenner (Glee) rounding out the cast. Chuck Russell (The Mask) directs.

In “Detective Knight Rogue” Bruce Willis stars as veteran Detective James Knight, dedicated to navigating the demanding streets of Los Angeles, in this thrilling first of a trilogy of films. As the city prepares for Halloween, mask-wearing armed robbers critically wound Knight’s partner in a shootout following a heist. With Knight in hot pursuit, the bandits flee L.A. for New York, where the detective’s dark past collides with his present case and threatens to tear his world apart… unless redemption can claim Knight first. “Detective Knight Rogue” was shot in Vancouver with Canadian actors Corey Large, Lochlyn Munro (Riverdale, Peacemaker), Michael Eklund (Wynonna Earp, The Call), and Cody Kearsley (Riverdale, River Road) joining Willis.

Other action films including “White Elephant”, “Cosmic Sin”, “Apex”, and “American Siege” are Bruce Willis starring vehicles with Large producing and acting so their friendship and working relationship have a long history.

With over fifteen productions underway since 2020, Corey Large’s company has found a productive niche in genre titles with A-list names with films that do well in theatres and on streaming and transactional platforms worldwide. Growing up in Victoria, Corey moved to Vancouver in 1997 and booked roles in TV series including “Breaker High.” He realized early in his career to take matters into his own hands by not waiting around to be cast in other people’s films.  With sixty-four producer credits, thirty-six actor credits, and fourteen writer credits on IMDB, Corey made the right decision.

Garnering press coverage worldwide Corey is eager to share his story with Canadians. He has filmed a number of other feature films in Canada including ‘Broil” in Vancouver and “Apex” and “Poker Night” in Victoria. Corey splits his time between Victoria, Vancouver, and Los Angeles.

Corey Large is available for interviews upon request.

As an actor, Jesse stars in the short film Smoke Eaters premiering at the New Hampshire Film Festival screening on October 7, 2022

With over 500 voice-over credits, and being nominated for three “One Voice” Awards, Jesse Arthur Carroll is one of the fastest rising talents in the Voice Over industry. With high-profile clients that include Hilton, Princess Cruises, Orange Theory, Molson, Bareface Whiskey, Amazon, Saks, GoPro, Nintendo, Walmart, Cheerios, Honda, Toyota, and Dell Jesse is in demand. Jesse is also the narrator for Backroad Truckers’ first season currently streaming on Hulu and aired on “The HISTORY Channel” and the second season to air in 2023. Jesse is also honored to be chosen as a judge for the 2022 SOVAS, the voice-over industry’s highest awards event that is similar to the Oscars, Emmys, and Tonys.

Jesse has the lead and critical role as role Kurt in the short film Smoke Eater, which will be premiering at the New Hampshire Film Festival screening on October 7, 2022.  In Smoke Eaters, a young girl spends a day at the fire station in 1981 with her mother, the only female firefighter on the force, and witnesses what a typical day of work looks like. Jesse will be in attendance and included in the Q & A at the festival. Smoke Eaters will also be featured at other film festivals this year and will be airing on Crave in Canada.

The first role Jesse booked was on the TV series Travelers starring Eric McCormack.  Jesse has become a favorite booking a number of lead and critical roles in Hallmark movies that include A Summer Romance, Hailey Dean Mystery, Christmas on Holly Lane, and Christmas Pen Pals. Born in Port Alberni Vancouver Island, raised in Victoria and Nanaimo before moving to Vernon BC at 18, Jesse then moved to Vancouver in his twenties. Jesse was a stand-up comedian for a decade, which included touring Australia in 2015 and 2016 where he performed in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, The Perth Fringe, and Adelaide Fringe, and multiple venues in New Zealand. Wesley MacInnes New Role in The Imperfects by Netflix

Multi-talented actor Wesley MacInnes takes on his next role in the new Sci-Fi Horror TV series “The Imperfects” currently in the top 3 TV shows globally on Netflix

This singer/songwriter’s songs have surpassed 15 million streams under his stage name Wes Mack, and he has officially announced his upcoming single “Lookin For You” to be released in October 2022.

Multi-talented actor/musician/writer/director Wesley MacInnes takes on his next acting role in the new sci-fi Netflix series, “The Imperfects.” After an experimental gene therapy turns them into monsters, three twenty-somethings, played by Morgan Taylor Campbell (“Zoe’s Extraordinary Playlist”), Rhianna Jagpal (“Motherland: Fort Salem”), and Inaki Godoy (“Who Killed Sara”) band together to hunt down the scientist responsible and force him to make them human again, teaming up along the way with Dr. Sydney Burke – played by Italia Ricci (“Designated Survivor,” “Supergirl”). For fans of quirky super squads, think “The Umbrella Academy” meets “The Boys”. The Imperfects is currently in the top 3 TV shows on Netflix in the USA and Canada.

On the show, Wesley plays Owen Schultz, a geeky and altruistic young man who was also a victim of the experiment – but one whose powers take him down a unique and potentially destructive path. This engrossing genre-bending series ranges from wacky Scooby-Doo-esque hijinks to dark bloody horror, and is executive produced by Shelley Eriksen and Dennis Heaton (“The Order”), as well as the creative minds behind “Fargo” and “Van Helsing”. Other series stars include Rhys Nicholson, Kyra Zagorsky, Celina Martin, Jedidiah Goodacre, and more.

In addition to acting, Wesley is an international singer/songwriter under the stage name Wes Mack. His releases have yielded five Billboard top 10 hits, 20 CCMA and BCCMA nominations, over 15 million streams, and an international tour with Shania Twain.

In October of 2022, he is set to release a brand new single titled “Lookin For You.” The song follows on the heels of his SiriusXM top two singles “Don’t Change” and “Ain’t Got You”, which have amassed over 1.3 million streams in the last year, as well as the hit song “Fighting” which he wrote for his friend and fellow country artist Tyler Joe Miller, which reached the top 10 on the Billboard charts in 2021. His upcoming single “Lookin For You” was co-written by Juno Award-winning member of The Washboard Union, Chris “Dunner” Duncombe, and a member of the 90s smash sensation Wave, Dave Thomson. Dan Swinimer, who is best known for his work with CCMA Award-winning artists Jojo Mason and Madeline Merlo, produced the upbeat love song.

Most recently, on the small screen in 2021, Wesley acted opposite to Kate Beckinsale in the Paramount+ dark comedy “Guilty Party”. While in theatres, he recently faced off with Liam Neeson in the action film “Cold Pursuit”.

Wesley pours his passion for performing in every role. He has a long list of television credits that include: “DC’S Legends of Tomorrow”, “iZombie”, “Motive” “The 100”, “Supernatural”, “Continuum”, “Smallville”, “Heartland” and “The Vampire Diaries”. He has also taken on roles in feature films, including “The Power Rangers Movie”, “Cold Pursuit”, “Magic Beyond Words: The JK Rowling Story”, “A Dog Named Christmas”, “Girl House”, and “The Phantoms”.

On the other side of the camera, Wesley is an established music video director and has been nominated multiple times for director and video of the year at the CCMA, BCCMA, and Leo Awards.

Wesley is a Calgary native, who currently resides in Vancouver, where he continues to expand his ever-growing resume of impressive credits. From the largest stages and arenas to the director’s chair, from writing hit songs to creating characters as an actor; Wesley has established himself as a creative force of many forms.

In conjunction with the 150th anniversary, this year, of the city of Belmar, the Belmar Arts Center has announced its intention to donate a weatherproof piano to Belmar’s Pyanoe Plaza, in honor of original E Street Band pianist David Sancious and his mother, Stelma, who also played piano.

Stelma Sancious allowed David Sancious and his friends, including Bruce Springsteen, to rehearse in the garage of her house on E Street in Belmar; this is how the E Street Band got its name.

Those who wish to donate to this project can do so on the Belmar Arts Center web site, belmararts.org.

According to the web site:

The town of Belmar has given us its total support from our very beginnings and is about to celebrate its 150th Anniversary and we at Belmar Arts Center would like to say thank you in a way that reflects our appreciation for their 18 years of generosity, support, and partnership. We have come up with an idea that will live beyond the sesquicentennial birthday celebration and contribute to life, music, and art in Belmar for years to come.

One of Belmar’s most acclaimed but least acknowledged former citizens, David Sancious, David grew up on “E” Street near 10th Avenue. He graduated from Belmar Elementary School where, with his mother’s additional tutoring, he learned to play piano. As a teenager, David met another teen at a coffee house in Asbury Park called “Upstage” and formed a band that practiced in David’s mother Stelma’s basement. That Freehold teen was, of course, Bruce Springsteen. The band that formed in Stelma Sancious’s basement needed a name, so they called themselves “The E Street Band” and the rest, as they say, is history.

We at the BAC would like to honor David and his mother by purchasing and installing a weatherproof piano in their honor in Pyanoe Plaza, the de facto town center of Belmar. Long after the dedication and anniversary celebrations are over, having this public piano will open the door to innumerable opportunities to bring live music to the center of town year-round.

Sancious played on Springsteen’s first three albums before leaving the E Street Band to tour and record with his own jazz fusion group, Tone. He later worked with Peter Gabriel, Sting, Eric Clapton, Santana, Seal and many others.
