Canadian Teen Singer Sofia Evangelina wins “Best Album” Award at the Young Artist Academy’s 40th Consecutive Awards Gala in Hollywood

Sofia Evangelina, a Canadian sixteen-year-old singer/songwriter has just arrived home from Los Angeles where she was astounded when they announced on July 14th that she is the winner of the “Best Album” at the Young Artist Academy’s 40th Consecutive Awards Gala, where members of the Academy cast the votes. With steep competition, Sofia was nominated for Best Vocalist and Best Album. She won the “Best Album” award for her first album entitled “Butterfly” which was recorded 2 years ago and dropped in August 2018.

Mesmerizingly, almost every great Hollywood star has hailed from the Young Artists Academy. Sofia is in good company as past honourees, winners and/or nominee during their youth include Hollywood’s A-listers Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Ryan Reynolds, Julia Roberts, Drake, Johnny Depp, Bradley Cooper, and Natalie Portman, just to name a few.

Sofia is thrilled to win this award. After a long evening of interviews, media, red carpet, after-party and mingling, Sofia and her entourage were the last to leave the gala. To their bittersweet surprise, they were greeted by a group of long awaiting fans with stacks of photos for Sofia to autograph.

Her debut album “Butterfly” is a collection of iconic songs interweaving elements of R&B, soul, gospel, and pop, a perfect blend of historical resonance and pop modernity produced by Bryant Olender who has worked with Michael Bublé. 

What’s next for Sofia in the industry? This up and comer has been collaborating with music producer Roy Hamilton III (Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Keri Hilson) recording the major production of two powerful singles which will be part of an upcoming 5 song EP. The launch of this epic new material will be released later this yearAlso an aspiring actress, Sofia is preparing her character for a lead role that she has been cast in for an independent feature film, shooting this summer.
