John Cassini New Film Roles 2019

Award-winning actor John Cassini has roles in two films, True Fiction and Volition screening at the Arrow Video FrightFest in London’s West End on August 24th.

Award-winning actor John Cassini has two films, True Fiction and Volition screening at the legendary Frightfest in London, England on August 24th, 2019. Frightfest is a five-day multi-cinema event based at the Cineworld and Prince Charles Cinemas on Leicester Square, in London’s West End from August 22nd to 26th, 2019. http://www.frightfest.co.uk.

In its European Premiere, True Fictionis a classic two-hander that packs in plenty of twists and turns from Canadian filmmaker Braden Croft. True Fiction is about the abuse of power and perception of reality. A palette cleanser between zombies, vampires and run-and-hide slashers John plays the role of Caleb Conrad, a reclusive writer. The horror film will screen on Saturday 24th August 2019 at 1pm on the Cineworld Discovery screen.  

Crypt-teaze.com gives True Fiction 10/10 and says, “You can really feel their chemistry on screen. John reminds me a lot of Christian Slater in the best possible way. He has that same brilliance and charisma.” 

Winning awards worldwide Volition has also been officially selected to screen at FrightFest!  In the sci-fi thriller John plays the role of Ray, a career criminal. Volition follows a man (Adrian Glynn McMorran) afflicted with clairvoyance tried to change his fate when a series of events leads to a vision of his own imminent murder.  Directed by Tony Dean Smith the film will screen on August 24th at Leicester Square in the bustling West End. 

Cassini is one of Canada’s critically acclaimed award winning actors. With a long list of over 120 credits John can also be seen in the role of Chuck in Sony’s feature film A Dog’s Way Home opposite Ashley Judd. Cassini’s prolific career spans from series-regular to recurring roles incritically successful series, such as Blackstone, Netflix’s Intelligence, DaVinci’s Inquest, thecomedy hit, Robson Arms, SYFY/Superchannel’sContinuum and Van Helsing. His previousfeature film work has included performances in David Fincher’s Seven and TheGame, along with many critically acclaimed independent films including In God I Trust. Upcoming projects include John’s role as Ron Mathis in the much anticipated Fox series NeXT. 

Premiering at the 2019 Vancouver International Film Festival next month, John produces and stars in the feature film Daughter. In the aftermath of his daughter’s death, Jim (Cassini) is living a life of isolation and self-destruction until he can no longer hide and must face his tragic past. As this character study unfolds, Cassini and writer-director Anthony Shim boldly push every scene in unexpected directions.
