Teen Actor Hunter Dillon is back for the second season of the Hulu original live-action television series Holly Hobbie in theleading role of Tyler Flaherty, the middle son of Collinsville’s most powerful family. The 10-episode series shot in Toronto, Ontario debuts on Hulu in the US and will air on Family Channel in Canada in early 2020. The first season recently aired on CBBC, the leading children’s channel in the UK and has been picked up by a raft of international broadcasters, including French public broadcaster FranceTélévisions. The series has just been nominated for a Kidscreen award for The Best Live Action Series in the kids programming category.
The series follows Holly Hobbie (Ruby Jay) who has lived her whole life in the small town of Collinsville. Holly’s a 13-year-old singer-songwriter who’s got her best friends and close-knit family by her side, but she’s dreaming of ways to save the world – even if it’s starting in her own backyard.
In season two of Holly Hobbie, Hunter’s character Tyler struggles to navigate relationships and new personal conflicts that have arisen. He might just need Holly and her friends to help him out. Hunter’s role as Tyler combines his love of acting and music, which is a perfect fit for the young actor.
Hunter guest stars on the current season of Disney NOW’s Sci-fi family comedy Gabby Duran & The Unsittables’ episode:Who is Joey Panther shot on location in Vancouver, BC.Gabby Duran lands an out-of-this-world job to babysit an unruly group of very important extra-terrestrial children who are hiding out on Earth with their families, disguised as everyday kids. Acting since his early teens, Hunter landed his first acting role portraying a young Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) on The CW’s Supernatural. He is proud of his recurring roles on Fox TV’s The Exorcist as Caleb and young Arnold on AMC/Netflix’s television series Dirk Gently Holistic Detective. He has also appeared in Fox’s Wayward Pines.
Hunter roles in feature films include To All the Boys I’ve Loved Beforeplaying the role of young Peter Kavinksy in flashbacks of lead (Noah Centineo). In 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool 2 starring Ryan Reynolds, Hunter plays the role of Branding Boy, a young boy being branded at the orphanage. As a voice over actor Hunter is the voice of Alcazaba in the Animated Action series Beyblade Burst.
Born and raised in Vancouver BC, Hunter has been nominated for several awards including The Best Breakthrough Actor for his role in The Exorcist Season 2at the CineAwards and Best Ensemble in a Feature Film for To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before at the 2018 Joey Awards. Most recently Hunter was nominated for a 2019 Joey Award for Best Actor in a Recurring Role Television Family or Comedy Age 15+ and Best Ensemble in a Television Series for Holly Hobbie.
Hunter started his acting training at Project Limelight when he was 11 and has remained involved in the community-based program. He has trained at LeBlanc School of Acting, Deb Podowski at Austin Tuck Studios as well as Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London England.
Hunter spends much of his time songwriting and singing while playing guitarwhen not acting or attending high school.
