Backroad Truckers Season 2 is in production

Big Time Decent Productions announces the second season of Backroad Truckers has been greenlit by Corus Entertainment to air on The HISTORY Channel® across Canada

The popular TV series was recently picked up by the streaming service Hulu in the United States

Matt Shewchuk, President & Executive Producer of Big Time Decent Productions is pleased to announce that the second season of Backroad Truckers has been greenlit by Corus Entertainment to air on The HISTORY Channel® across Canada in 2023. The popular TV series was also recently sold to the American subscription streaming service Hulu.

Backroad Truckers is a docu-series about a special breed of blue-collar drivers who do whatever it takes to make a buck with their 4x4s on tough northern backroads. That means salvaging machinery from the woods, rescuing stranded drivers, and “hotshotting” vital cargo to remote businesses in impossible locations.

There are a number of exciting projects confirmed for Big Time Decent Productions, including Season 5 of Rust Valley Restorers, which will premiere on The HISTORY Channel in 2023, as well as a ramp-up of the company’s social media division with two original podcasts in production. The podcasts include a veterinary series called The Pawcast with Dr. Lauren and a collectible series called The Collectors Cast.

In addition, Big Time Decent has helped spin Backroad Truckers’ breakout star, Dale Kristensen, into a viral hit on TikTok with plans of launching a standalone YouTube channel.

Big Time Decent is also thrilled to be partnering with producer Rob Vroom of Vroom Productions to launch a new Montréal-based post-production facility called QC Post Media.

Last year, Big Time Decent expanded its support of local storytellers by providing $30,000 in post-production services to emerging Canadian filmmakers at the 2021 Whistler Film Festival with plans to do so again for the 2022 edition.

With Big Time Decent, veteran producer Matt Shewchuk has assembled a team of creators, writers, and editors in a 5,000 sq. ft. production and post-production facility with one simple goal: creating original content that thrills a global audience.

Beyond their development slate of scripted and unscripted projects, Big Time Decent also offers full production and post services for feature films, MOWs, and TV series. Their post facilities include 20 edit suites, a 5.1 sound mixing studio, and the most state-of-the-art color grading suite in Vancouver.

The production company’s team includes Matt Shewchuk, President & Executive Producer, René Brar, Head of Development, and Jeff Kinnon, VP of Factual.
