Multi-talented actor/singer/songwriter Arden Alfonso takes on the role of Cindee in the feature film “Sorry for Your Loss” screening at the Vancouver Just For Laughs Film Festival on February 19th at 6:30 pm at Vancity Theatre and is streaming on Showtime USA

Arden is an award-winning singer/songwriter with new music being released in 2019

Multi-talented actor Arden Alfonso is proud of her role as Cindee in the feature film “Sorry For Your Loss” screening at the Vancouver Just For Laughs Film Festival on February 19th, 2019 at 6:30 pm at The Vancity Theatre in Vancouver. In the role of Cindee she plays a stripper with a ‘heart of gold’ that works in the strip club that Ken’s (Justin Bartha) father Andy frequently visited before his death. When new dad (Justin Bartha) has to return home to bury his estranged father, things take a complicated turn when the dead man’s final wish is to have his ashes scattered on the field of his favorite professional sports team. 

Arden acts alongside a stellar ensemble cast that includes Justin Bartha (The Hangover, The Good Fight), Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek, The Post), Sandrine Holt (House of Cards, Homeland), Lolita Davidovich (How to Get Away with Murder, Shades of Blue), and Kevin MacDonald (Kids in the Hall). “Sorry For Your Loss” is also currently streaming on Showtime USAin the United States. The Canadian Theatrical Release dates TBA in spring 2019 and the feature film will be airing on CRAVE TV this summer. “Sorry For Your Loss” had its World premiere atThe 2018 Calgary International Film Festival and also screened at The 2018 Whistler International Film Festival.

“I was very excited when I booked my role as Cindee in “Sorry For Your Loss.” It is my first comedic role in a feature film. I had to audition so many times to get the part but I knew I wanted to be a part of the project. I was thrilled to be cast with such a talented group of actors.” Arden adds.

Arden has had inspiring roles on other television series and feature films. In the feature film “I Still See You” she plays Mary. The feature film stars Bella Throne (Paradise City, Famous in Love), Richard Harmon (The 100, The Age of Adaline), and Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend, The Wedding Date). The screenplay is based on the book Break My Heart 1000 Timesby Daniel Waters and is written by Jason Fuchs and directed by Scott Speer. The film was released theatrically in October 2018. Since 2017 Arden has booked numerous roles in film and television including a recurring role in USA Network’s “Damnation” from the executive producers of Game of Thrones and producers of Walk the Line that was shot in Alberta, the feature film “JT Leroy” starring Kristen Stewart and Laura Dern and a guest starring role on “Wayne” starring Mark McKenna and Ciara Bravo. 

Arden grew up on a farm in the small town of St. Andrews outside of Winnipeg, Manitoba. When she was ten years old she begged her mother for singing lessons, then booked her first role as Annie in a theatrical production in Winnipeg. She was hooked! Arden majored in Theater at American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles and trained at the Actor Training Centre in Manitoba. She now resides in Toronto pursuing her passion for the arts.

Arden was nominated for Most Outstanding Performance by a Female Artist in 2014 Manitoba ACTRA Awards for her work in “The Christmas Heart” She was also a guest star on the TV series “The Pinkertons” that was nominated for Directors Guild of Canada award for best TV Series.

Arden is a classically trained singer and songwriter, and has won many singing awards and scholarships since childhood. She plays guitar, piano and has written songs with many award winning songwriters and producers. She released her debut single “Living Memories” in 2016 of which was co-written and produced by Grammy Award winning producer David Bottrill (Muse, Tool, Smashing Pumpkins), Erik Alcock (Pink, Kanye West, Eminem) and Ryan McCambridge (Rush, Metric). She is currently working on some exciting new music projects that will be released 2019.
