The popular TV series, which also airs on HGTV as Love It or List It Too in the USA, showcases families who are struggling with homes that no longer suit their needs. Send Rachel Parent to Monsanto Shareholder Meeting

11953510_1177128375647731_7612265733862610309_oRachel’s Story
This is Rachel Parent. She’s the founder of an organization called Kids Right to Know. At the age of 16, Rachel is already an accomplished public speaker and debater.

Rachel thinks kids—and everyone, actually—have the right to know what they’re eating. If food contains GMO’s (or “genetically modified organisms”), Rachel thinks it should say so on the label. That way, people can decide whether they want to buy it or not.

Monsanto Corporation is the world’s largest supplier of GMOs. Monsanto has fought against labeling laws.  Rachel has some questions for Monsanto. In fact, lots of questions.

Monsanto’s annual shareholder meeting is being held on January 29 in St. Louis, Missouri. Rachel is attending. She holds the proxy of a Monsanto shareholder who can’t attend herself. All Rachel needs is the airplane fare from Toronto to St. Louis, and the accommodation expenses for staying there.

While in St. Louis, Rachel will join Anne Temple, an activist with Moms Across America—another organization that’s concerned about how to feed kids the healthiest possible foods. Together, they’ll put the hard questions to Monsanto.

1545756_786052671421972_160935949_nThey’ll also hold a public rally to inform people about GMOs and why the average person should want to know whether their food is genetically modified or not.

We’d like to raise $3,900 to cover Rachel’s expenses for this event. If there’s money left over, it will go to Kids Right to Know Community Association, to continue the work of informing the public.

Please help send Rachel to St. Louis with your donation of $10, $25, $50 or more. Please donate, then share this video with your friends and family. Share it with everyone who’s concerned about GMOs and healthful food.

I’ve created this crowdfunding site because I agree with Rachel’s concerns. I try to avoid eating GMO foods because many of them contain residues from Monsanto’s herbicide product Roundup. Roundup contains glyphosate salts and esters, and I’m suspicious that these chemicals are damaging to human health.

Tammy Gillis co-stars in Hallmark Channel’s UNLEASHING MR. DARCY airing Saturday, January 23rd at 9pm starring Cindy Busby, Ryan Paevey and Francis Fisher

_DSC0282 edit 4Tammy’s directorial debut on the original comedy web series THE SUPPORT GROUP

Next up for Tammy Gillis is a lead role in Hallmark Channel’s UNLEASHING MR. DARCY that will air on Saturday, January 23rd at 9 :00 pm. In this modern day spin on “Pride & Prejudice,” Elizabeth Scott (Cindy Busby), is fishing for direction in her life and gets the opportunity to professionally show her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in a fancy New York dog show. Dog show judge Donovan Darcy (Ryan Paevey) comes across as aristocratic and rude and a chain of misunderstandings unfold during the competition, complicating their mutual attraction. In true Jane Austen fashion, Elizabeth and Donovan begin to see the error of their ways and it turns out Mr. Darcy is far more kind and interesting than Elizabeth ever imagined. Tammy plays the lead role of Jenna Scott, an older and endearing sister to the female heroine, played by Cindy Busby. Both the sisters face the pressures from their mother to fall in love and get married. This movie is based on a book and is a play off of Pride and Prejudice. Tammy’s character unexpectedly finds herself meeting love at first sight.

She needs to win back her son’s affection.

Tammy is also widely recognized for her multitude of film and television appearances. Most recently Tammy Gillis played a profound character in Signed Sealed Delivered: Impossible Dream. Tammy’s role depicts a female U.S. soldier in the special ops unit who is held captive in Afghanistan. In this movie, Tammy embodies the strength and courage of her character that is needed for survival, while also being able to portray the compassion found in human nature even under such difficult circumstances. This role displays the diversity and talent of Tammy’s acting. http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/23/opinions/lemmon-band-of-sisters-special-ops/

Tammy recently appeared in a number of other productions including a recurring guest star in Hallmark’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Truth Be Told. James Clayton Wins Lead Actor Award Of Excellence at The IndieFEST Film Awards for his role in CANDiLAND also starring Gary Busey and Chelah Horsdal

James_Clayton_montage_addtxtJames Clayton has won the prestigious IndieFEST Film Award of Excellence for his lead role of Peter in the upcoming thriller CANDiLAND; also starring Gary Busey and Chelah Horsdal. CANDiLAND is based on the novel by Elizabeth Engstrom and will be distributed in North America by IndustryWorks Pictures spring 2016.

“It is an extreme honor and privilege to be awarded this distinction. This is really a reflection of all the hard work of the crew, cast, and everyone who supported this great film.  I am eternally in debt to my co-leads Gary Busey and Chelah Horsdal who were an inspiration everyday and will no doubt be recognized for their outstanding performances in this film. As well as to the magnetic Elizabeth Engstrom, and of course, our inventive and extraordinary leader, writer/Editor/Director Rusty Nixon.” says James Clayton.

CANDiLAND: Struggling to rebuild their lives, a former tennis star (James Clayton) and a recent divorcee (Chelah Horsdal) decide to isolate themselves from the world in a quest for true “oneness”; as their affair descends into savagery, his father (Gary Busey) must fight to save them before they disappear completely into madness.

James has been building a career of diverse characters and is known for his deep commitment and detailed preparation. The character of Peter marks a new benchmark for James as he lost 55 pounds, shaved his head, and shaved down his front tooth for the role.

Clayton began his acting career at the age of sixteen when he booked his first role in K19: The Widowmaker (2001), starring Harrison Ford and directed by Kathryn Bigelow. Since then, he has added an extensive list of versatile characters to his resume. In 2004, James went on to a supporting lead role in the Horror feature Adam and Evil followed by a leading role in the Thriller feature The Bentley Box (2004) and honed his comedic skills while leading in the head-banger Comedy, Blackbridge (2006). Actor Gerald Auger has a busy fall with roles in Australian production LOST FACE and Russian production PETERSBURG, A SELFIE

He produced and starred in BOHEMIAN BLOOD in The Frightening 48 Hour Film Challenge in Northern Alberta

Russian DowntownGerald Auger – actor, producer, writer, entrepreneur and motivational speaker of Woodland Cree descent from Alberta, Canada has a busy fall with roles in three short films: “Lost Face”, “Petersburg. A Selfie”, and an independent short film “Bohemian Blood” for The Frightening 48 Hour Film Challenge. This is a man on a mission and his characters capture the essence of his talent.

Filming this December in Calgary, Gerald has been cast in “Lost Face” a classic story by legendary writer Jack London that takes place in mid-1800’s Russian. Gerald Auger plays Makamuk, a fierce warrior in “Lost Face” who steps up as a chief to lead the remainder of his tribe to victory against the Russian fur thieves. Makamuk faces a power play with Subienkow, a Polack who finds himself the second-to last survivor of a group of Russian fur thieves.

In October Gerald flew to St. Petersburg, Russia for “Petersburg. A Selfie”, a collection of 7 stories about Russia’s most beautiful city through the perspective of 7 women on the concept of love. “Anichkov Bridge” is one of the stories from the collection by director Natalia Kudryashova. Through the story of one woman’s journey of self-hate, she comes to realize that she is living a human existence rather than a human experience that speaks from her heart – her soul. Auger plays a Native American Spirit who comes to visit her in the physical realm. With his ancient knowledge and wisdom from his ancestors, this Spirit conveys a message to her to love life again.

Bohemian BloodIn “Bohemian Blood”, Auger’s role is an Indigenous Cult leader of murderous Bohemian Artist Hookers that use hammers to kill their Johns in a Bohemian style brothel. Auger remarks, “The Frightening 48 Hour Film Challenge was indeed an intense, creative and collaborative effort! It’s a way for me to give back to the community.”

After being discovered at the opening ceremonies of the 1995 Canada Winter Games Auger has been working in the entertainment industry ever since. It all started with a supporting role in Gunslinger’s Revenge, a lead role in the National Geographic IMAX-production Lewis & Clark: Great Journey West, Hallmark Entertainment TV miniseries Dreamkeeper. Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks-produced miniseries Into the West; Klatsassin and CTV’s Luna: Spirit of The Whale, FUBAR 2, Western Confidential, The Plateau, Blackstone, AMC’s Hell on Wheels, CBC’s Strange Empire and soon to be seen in the new HBO’s Lewis and Clark series as Chief Le Borgne.

Auger produced, wrote and directed the short film “Walking Alone” and a National Film Board of Canada documentary “Honour Thy Father” won Best Film Representing Cultural Diversity at the Alberta Motion Picture Industry Awards in 2009. He wrote and produced the series “The Ancients for Aboriginal Peoples Television Network” and worked on the sequel to his film “Honour Thy Father—Our Journey Home”, which deals with Christianity and Native spirituality in Indian country.

Auger has been on his spiritual journey for over 20 years and often coordinates a sweat lodge ceremony to have spirit helpers empower and enlighten others. One of his missions in life is to honour the Indigenous people in terms of how they are portrayed. In 1996 and 1997 Auger was awarded the National Native Role Model by the Governor General of Canada and spent the next two years visiting more than 30 communities across Canada, inspiring his aboriginal peers, relating stories about his experiences and bonding with locals through cultural events and ceremonies. Auger is the first aboriginal recipient of the Rotary International Integrity Award for the Avenue of Nations in Alberta.

Auger continues to produce films, television series and documentaries aiming to advance the status and expose the stereotyping of his people. Auger latest roles are doing just that, playing a cult leader to a modern day Native American with a rock star style in Russia. Making Russian cinematic history as an Indigenous actor shooting a film in Russia.

Dejan Loyola adds the role of Dr.Dev Sekara on CTV’s “Saving Hope”

Screen Shot 2015-11-20 at 7.26.47 AMDejan Loyola’s role on CTV’s “Saving Hope” as Dr. Dev Sekara is close to home.  Dr. Dev is an eager first year surgical resident at Hope Zion Hospital. He uses humour to try and diffuse his anxiety of being one of the hospital’s bright young doctors. Dev is the extremely compassionate albeit naive love interest of Dr. Cassie Williams (Kim Shaw). “Saving Hope” airs Thursday nights at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on CTV.

“Saving Hope” has a special personal meaning to Dejan as he is the son of two former psychiatric nurses and is a former mental health care worker himself. Because Dejan has been surrounded by the medical world from an early age, the role of Dr. Dev Sekara is a perfect fit.

Dev definitely has aspects of both my parents in him, it has been really cool to incorporate my personal experience.” Dejan says, “Both my parents are former psychiatric nurses and I was a mental health care worker myself for a number of years. Coming from a family of medical professionals it has been an incredible experience being able to portray a young doctor.”

Dejan Loyola’s television debut was on the pilot episode of the science-fiction themed “V”, with following work in the 2010 fantasy film “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief”, guest roles on a number of TV series that include “Tower Prep”, “Fringe”, “Emily Owens M.D.” and “The Tomorrow People”, as well as appearances in the television movies “Best Player” and “Grave Halloween”. Dejan plays comedic relief in the Nickelodeon films: “Best Player” and “One Crazy Cruise”. Dejan was one of the series leads in the CW pilot “H.M.S.: White Coat” and also had a supporting lead role in the independent feature “Evangeline”, which was nominated for nine Leo Award’s in 2014.

SH4_EP405_D2_SW_0025Dejan’s work is showcased through a multitude of diverse roles. In “Best Player”, Dejan plays The Eviscer8r, a villainous and ridiculous professional video game player. In “Grave Halloween”, his lead role as Terry, an American exchange student studying film in Japan, is a joker, caring, and a bit nerdy but also brave when the chips are down. On the other side of the spectrum, Dejan played Rafi, a genie and brother of the male lead, Cyrus, on “Once Upon A Time in Wonderland”.

A highlight moment to Dejan’s career was the opportunity to chat and work alongside Tom Cruise even though it was just for a day doing stunts driving a scooter for “Mission Impossible 4”.

When time permits, Dejan returns to his old school on Salt Spring Island to teach improv and theatre. His early days in writing, directing and acting in theatre resulted in scholarships and bursaries that allowed him to start training.

Dejan lived in his father’s homeland of Sri Lanka for a couple of years during the civil war and was primarily home schooled due to the country’s hardships. He returned to Canada with his family when he was at the age of 7 and enrolled in acting classes at a community theatre where his first connection to other youths were made. Attending public school for the first time at the age of 12 was a struggle but he used comedy to make people laugh, connect with people, and make new friends. This journey taught him the power of connecting with others through smile and laughter, developing an even deeper love for stage and screen work.

Dejan grew up on Salt Spring Island and resides in Toronto while filming the TV series “Saving Hope” over six months, but his home is in Vancouver.

Dejan is available for interviews upon request.
