Snake of the Nile Book by Author E.A. Jackson

Snake of the Nile, the first book of The Aegean Series by author E. A. Jackson now available

For immediate release: Author E.A. Jackson (pen name of Vancouver-based actor, Ely Jackson) is pleased to announce that her first book entitled Snake of the Nile is now available for purchase. In this first book of the Aegean Series, many pieces are set in motion, deadly secrets are revealed, empires are shaken, and lustful, power-hungry men nurture the viper sleeping in Kleopatra’s heart, a secret known only to herself and Akela, with history-shaking consequences still to come.

Jackson’s whole childhood was intertwined with the ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian myths and legends that were read to her by her Greek family. Cleopatra, with whom she shares a heritage and spells through the book as Kleopatra (the figure’s authentic Greek spelling), was always someone who fascinated her. Not in terms of a woman being in power or epic love stories that spanned continents, but more so because Jackson couldn’t help but feel that we’d gotten her wrong. What if her motivations weren’t remotely close to what historians speculated, what if she was an even more horrid tyrant than her father, and what if in her romantic dalliances, there was not a trace of love at all? Unless she kept a personal diary, we could not possibly know and that has always fascinated Jackson, the endless possibilities of plot lines lost to time. That is what you will find in Jackson’s book Snake of the Nile, Cleopatra but not as she has been portrayed to us.

About the Book: History isn’t always written as it truly happened . . .

In all four corners of the ancient world, growing threats assemble into a storm of carnage, as the Roman eagle seeks to seize all who will not kneel before it in its golden talons.

In the colossal palace of Pharaoh Ptolemy XII Auletes, his youngest daughter, sweet Kleopatra Vll, and her dearest friend, Akela, daughter of the pharaoh’s favorite general, are only vaguely aware of the dark currents swirling under the surface of their world, and dangerously unaware of a dark prophecy concerning them both that will be set in motion by the arrival of a mysterious visitor from foreign lands.

On Krete, the last Spartan princess is humiliated and imprisoned after being pulled from a city in flames, fighting to keep some vestige of her people’s legendary spirit alive.

In Rome, the quietly troubled Julius Caesar mourns lost love even as he solidifies his rule with the crucifixion of the slave rebel Spartacus and all who followed him.

And on the far-away shores of the Aegean, the last remaining tribes of ferocious Amazons struggle to avoid extinction as they battle forces from all sides, and alliances amongst enemies are forged out of necessity.

A deadly secret born of vengeance and fear, known only by Kleopatra and her childhood companion, threatens to rock the foundations of a powerful empire and discredit the lineage of the last Egyptian dynasty. With hungry eyes set only on revenge, the whispered words of lustful, power-hungry men nurture the viper sleeping in Kleopatra’s heart like venom infiltrating the bloodstream of history.

Author BIO:

E.A. Jackson is the pen name of Ely Jackson, a Greek-Australian actress born in Perth, Western Australia. Jackson is best known for her work in The Grand Unified Theory (2015), The Switch (2015), Alone on Christmas (2020), and The Dragon Prince on Netflix and was nominated in the 2017 LEO Awards for Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Motion Picture. Jackson is trained in mounted combat, archery, firearms, and swordplay, studied musical theatre in university, dance for eight years, and singing for five in addition to her work in film and television. Her passion for cinema and storytelling led her to a decade-long career in Vancouver, Canada where she currently resides, writing, acting, teaching, and developing the next two installments of The Aegean Series.

An only child, Jackson grew up in the vineyard farmlands of rural South Western Australia with many animals and acres of forest to encourage her imagination – noting that a beaten-up shoebox of Xena the Warrior Princess DVDs from her aunty one Christmas has had a major influence on her morals, values, and perspective. Now in 2022 Ely publishes her first-ever literary work, with book one in The Aegean Series: Snake of the Nile, where four ancient empires orchestrate what we now know as history, at whatever cost.
