Karen continues to amaze us with her elegance and strength as an actor and vocalist.   

There is no slowing down for multi-talented actor Karen Holness. This spring Karen has a number of productions including Lifetime TV’s MOW My Mom’s Letter from Heaven airing on April 20th at 10:00 pm. A single father has a fractious relationship with his rebellious teenage daughter. When a lost letter written to the daughter from her dying mother is miraculously found, everything starts to turn around. Inspired by a true story. Playing a hero for the first time, Karen plays Maggie in a role mixed with surprises starring alongside Barry Watson, Cindy Busby, and Jordyn Ashley Olson. 

Karen also has a recurring role on the new season of The 100 that starts airing on April 30th. Her ark as the character Blythe Ann begins on episode 3 that airs mid-May. Tune in as Karen plays one of the weirdest characters that she has ever played, with lots under the surface, Karen refers to this role as deep and delicious.  Karen enjoyed the experience as The 100is such a huge production with a high level of commitment from everyone on set.

Karen is also a gifted singer that was helpful for her booking the role Always Be My Maybe a comedy-drama that will be airing on Netflix in May 2019. Starring Ali Wong, Keanu ReevesRandall ParkDaniel Dae Kim. Karen’s character is Kathy a Diana Ross Impersonator who ends up in some interesting situations. Karen worked with Milo Ventimiglia in The Art of Running in the Rainwhere she plays a veterinarian. The feature also stars Amanda Seyfried, and Gary Cole. A dog named Enzo (the voice of Kevin Costner) recalls the life lessons he has learned from his racecar driving owner, Denny. Dog lovers believe their canine family members understand language, comprehend events, have opinions, and exude loyalty. The wise old dog Enzo shares thoughts about life experiences, which prepared him to protect his family in times of greatest need.

Karen also plays the role of Katie Wyer in Hallmark Channel’s series The Chronicle Mysteries. In the sports comedyBenchwarmers 2: Breaking BallsKaren plays Iris alongside Chris KleinJon LovitzChelsey Reist.After a freak accident ruins a guy’s chances at playing professional baseball, he joins a competitive softball league for lawyers. 

The independent feature film Torn will be hitting the festival circuit this fall. Karen plays the role of Imani Bell. Directed by Dan Rizzutoand stars Sam Vincent and Sharon Taylor.

With a long list of film, television and theater credits, Karen Holness has made a name for herself as a triple threat in the entertainment industry. With over 100 acting credits her film credits include Tortured (alongside Laurence Fishburne), Donovan’s Echo, Hollow Man 2, MOW Trustand her starring role on APTN and the Showcase original series Cashing In. Karen is also proud of her recent holiday movie role as Riley in Christmas on Hollylanethat aired on Lifetime in 2018.

Karen worked with some of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities early on in her career.  Her recurring role as ‘Mary’ on Showtime’s TV miniseries Out of Orderhad her working alongside an all-star cast, including William H. Macy, Eric Stoltz, Felicity Huffman, Peter Bogdanovich, and Justine Bateman.  Karen’s other television series, recurring and supporting roles, include A&E’s # 1 rated show Flight 93Fringe, Showtime’s Out Of TimeJPOD, Arrow, Lucifer, The Crossing, Da Vinci’s Inquest, and Frances Ford Coppola’s First Wave, and a lead role as Lisa Dolittle in 20th Century Fox’s Dr. Dolittle 4 – Top Dog and Dr. Dolittle 5 – Going Hollywoodand a recurring role on Sacred Lies just to name a few. Her guest star appearances include Smallville, Fighting The Odds, Twilight Zone, Dead Zone, and Frances Ford Coppola’s Firstwave.In feature films, she has a role in Big Fat Liar 2and one of Karen’s highlights was shooting a lead role in Alliance Atlantis’s Riverworldin New Zealand. Another memorable experience for Karen was performing in the Oscar Winning movie Chicago.   

Born in Jamaica, with Spanish, European, African and Aboriginal heritage, Karen feels privileged to have grown up in the Metropolitan city of Toronto where there is great support for the Arts. Vancouver is now home to Karen. Her passion for entertaining had her performing in ‘Joseph and the Amazing Color Dreamcoat’ with Donnie Osmond as the Egyptian seductress Mrs. Potipher, touring in the Canadian company of ‘Rent’ and in the Gershwin musical ‘Crazy For You’, which she performed for two years at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. Karen was born to perform and shine with the stars.
