Award Winning Actor John Cassini in Feature Film “The Resurrection of Tony Gitone“

The Promotion People John Cassini

Coming right off a theatrical release for the award-winning feature film “Hit ‘N Strum” which he produced, John Cassini is back in front of the camera in the upcoming theatrical release of “The Resurrection Of Tony Gitone”. Directed by the multiple award-winning Jerry Ciccoritti (The John A Macdonald Story, Lives of the Saints, Trudeau), “The Resurrection of Tony Gitone” is a drama of Italian immigrant friends at a welcome home party gone wrong which sees their lives intersect via the weavings of their joys and sorrows, successes and failures. John plays the role of Leo who arrives at the party having just discovered that his wife has been having an affair. The evening carries on from there as the friends and family come together with love, scandal, all-out brawls and redeeming loyalty.

Alongside John, The Resurrection of Tony Gitone also stars Fab Filippo and Nick Mancuso. The film will be premiering on March 29 in Toronto at the Royal Cinema, 608 College Street.

John currently plays a recurring role (which is top secret!) on SyFy’s “Continuum” and has also just joined the cast of the critically acclaimed TV drama “Blackstone” for their third season airing on Showcase and APTN.

The Promotion People John Cassini

John has produced a number of other projects including the original feature “Break A Leg” which he wrote and went on to win several awards. In 2010, John took on the role of producer as well as lead actor in the feature film “Guido Superstar – The Rise of Guido”. He also produced a new film version of William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”. In the theatre world, John most recently appeared on stage in the spring of 2012 in the play “God Of Carnage” at the Manitoba Theatre Centre and the Vancouver Playhouse.

John is most recognized for his award-winning portrayals of Ronnie Delmonico on the CBC series “Intelligence” and as Yuri Kukoc on CTV’s “Robson Arms”. John is a lifetime member of the Actors’ Studio in New York and Los Angeles and is co-artistic director of The Railtown Actors Studio in Vancouver, BC.
